MEET DR. BROWN

My career as a special education teacher, coordinator, supervisor, director, and principal has allowed me to support countless students, educators, and families to design and deliver individualized K-12 instruction in a variety of school settings. I hold Minnesota licenses in Specific Learning Disabilities, Mild to Moderate Disabilities, and K–12 Principal, and I remain committed to lifelong learning through ongoing professional development, including recent training in the Science of Reading.

My professional journey has been shaped by my own educational experiences. As a struggling high school student who barely graduated, I had to discover how I learn best. After failing out of college more than once, I developed the strategies and perseverance that ultimately enabled me to earn a BA from the University of Minnesota, a M. Ed. in Special Education from Penn State University, and an Ed. D. in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Thomas.

Those experiences continue to influence my work today. They remind me that every student is capable of growth when instruction is thoughtful, individualized, and grounded in genuine relationships. As a father of three, an artist, a musician, and a longtime mindfulness practitioner, I bring expertise and care to each tutoring session.
