MEET DR. BROWN
My career as special education teacher, Coordinator, Supervisor, Director and Principal has allowed me to work with countless students and their teachers and families to develop and deliver individualized instruction across the K-12 span in a variety of districts. I hold three MN licenses; Specific Learning Disabilities, Mild to Moderate Mental Impairments, and K-12 Principal and have remained current on the latest Science of Reading research.
I was a struggling high school student and barely graduated. I had to teach myself how to retain and recall information and failed out of college a couple times before finally learning how to learn. I went on to earn my BA at the UM Twin Cities in Philosophy, my M. Ed. from Penn State University in Special Education, and my Ed. D. from The University of St. Thomas in Educational Leadership. I am a father of three, an artist and musician, and have been a practitioner since the late 1990s.
